The following massage modalities / massage styles are available. They can be used as a mobile service, or at the clinic location. Typically the Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) will combine whichever modalities are best suited to meet your stated goal(s). However, you are more than welcome to requests your preferred style.
Swedish / Relaxation Massage
Swedish massage is the most commonly known form of massage. The therapist uses long flowing strokes working the superficial layers of muscles first before slowly progressing into deeper layers. Swedish techniques encourage muscles to relax and promote a feeling of well being.
Deep Tissue Massage Therapy
Deep tissue massage is often a great choice for athletes or those who carry chronic tension. In a deep tissue treatment the therapist locates specific areas of tension and applies a variety of techniques to loosen muscles and their surrounding connective tissue / fascia.
Positional Release Therapy (PRT)
Positional Release Therapy is a gentle yet incredibly effective pain management therapy. It is an excellent choice for those with painful medical conditions who do not respond well to aggressive therapy. PRT gently re-teaches your muscles how to be in a pain free state. Tension is released while function and Range of Motion (ROM) are restored.
If you have recently sustained an injury or you have a medical condition for which you would like assistance with a complete orthopedic assessment will be completed. Based on your assessment, an individualized treatment plan will be developed to address your specific needs.
Hot Stone Massage Therapy*
Hot Stone Massage Therapy is excellent for those who prefer a gentler massage. The therapist uses the warm stones as an extension of their hands. The warmth from the stones penetrates deeply into the muscles thus enhancing the therapeutic benefits of the massage.
*Please note – this treatment is only offered in clinic as the hot stones unit is not portable.
